First ppur: Big nose, bursting with violets, cooked red fruits, cigar box, slightly dusty. Gripping tannins and drying acidity combine with plum/prune and black cherries on the palet. Medium weight, the feel dominates. Some alcohol heat on the finish and the the tannins linger. Promissiong- interested to see what four hours in the decanter dose.
Four hour later: drying tannins, fruit is exploding. Eucalyptus notes, alcohol heat, grippy tannins. Bright black cherries. Delicious now but plenty of life remains.

1st of 4 bottles, this is a drop dead gorgeous Barolo. Smells like a field of fresh roses, with deep plum sauce, rhubarb, and dried pipe tobacco leaf. The palate shows off sour red cherry fruit, crazy tight tannins, nervy acidity, brilliant complexity. This is a powerhouse, beautiful Barolo, leaning to the modernist approach, but a great foothold in the traditional tart fruit flavor profile. Just gorgeous, drink now through 2035.

Fairly muted nose but Mouth coating, complex flavor of strawberries and stone fruits. Great acidity and 60 second finish. One of my favorites

Meh. Lots of oak, not much personality. Fine with a steak but chunky on its own.
