This was quite good. Traditional CdP with integrated round tannins, spices and plummy full-bodied fruit. Especially good for a 2008 with none of the "leanness" of some other wines.

Dark ruby..Nose: Dark fruit, pepper, garrigue, creamy oak...Palate: Dark cherries and plum, crushed black pepper, oak, vegetal and some heat on the finish..Overall a solid cdp but a poor qpr..The mid palate was a bit hollow and the heat on the finish was a downer for me...There are much better cdp's for the money imo..

Helga's 7th Annual CDP Tasting (2008 Vintage CDPs Semi-Blind) (Atlanta, GA): Nose was rather muted at this stage but it was very nice on the palate (the nose smelled like a CDR). Poor notes on this one but I wrote down a rating in the 91-92 range. It was an enjoyable wine that should come together with time. It was a step down from the wines in it's flights but noticeably better than the 1st 4 CDPs of the tasting.

08 Châteauneuf-du-Pape at Renaissance Wines (Renaissance Premium Wines and Cigars, Orenco Station, Oregon): The nose is full of bright red notes with scents of grapefruit, cherries, and hibiscus. It shows good evolution on the palate with blackberry and cherry flavors in the forefront. There is a bit of heat and a hint of something green on the mid. Some lovely vanilla oak and blackberry flavors run out on the middle of the palate after the structure fades. The grapefruits are full of acidity that contribute very well to the structure. 89+

A very lovely wine. All the flavors are perfectly balanced. Doesn't get much better than this
