La Fête du Champagne Gala (Pier Sixty, Chelsea Piers - New York NY): I served this at the La Fête du Champagne gala alongside the 2006. Lean black and red cherry with lots of meat and cooked mushroom. Very good length and power, much less finessed or enticing as the 2006.

Tasted at Guy Savoy LV, this wine was young and tight. It needed a lot of time in the decanter (more than I was able to give it).
This showed cherries, minerals, and some spices in both the nose and the mouth. It was fruity but firm with rounded tannin and firm acidity.
I have had a number of older vintages and this is right in line to be a classic vintage of this wine which is always more refined than, say, a big Chambertin. It is clear that this wine will be great in 10-20 years. However, it is really too young right now. Cellar this if you can as I expect at least 2 points of improvement.

Big, rich and still very fruit forward but the cherry candy flavor this had when young has melted away into a beautiful wine that will continue to improve with age. You could drink it all now but it will just get better and better forever

(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares) Light medium red color with clear mensicus; big, tart red fruit and earthy nose; tart red fruit and roses palate with firm sweet tannins; medium-plus finish 92+ pts.
(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares) Dark red color; restrained, tart red fruit and mineral nose; plush, tart red fruit and rosehips palate; medium-plus finish
(Vogue Bonnes Mares) Very heavy and ripe with and almost Rhone-like intensity to it. Rich and very dense. Not showing much else besides fruit. Very little earth and mineral. Very long finish. This needs alot of time. For fans of fruit bombs though I see no reason not to open it now.
(Domaine Comte Georges de Vogüé Bonnes Mares) Black red violet color; huge rosehips, roses, cherry, earthy, smoky nose; rich, deep, rosehips, roses, cherry palate with good acidity; long finish

Magnum. Elegant precise and in perfect shape at age 21 Y. A more Chambolle style of Bonnes Mares
