In a very good place right now. Elegant, fully integrated with the bdx markers in place. Colour starting to get that brick hue. Red berries, rust, oriental spice, cedar/pencil shavings and a touch of brett and tobacco. Smooth tannins (brushed leather/sandalwood) and a refreshing finish.
Drank in parallel w Guigal Brune et Blonde -12 where the Belair came out on top.
Decanted for 3h - Glass: Riedel Veritas Merlot

Quite light and elegant - not a powerhouse by any means. Drank over three days with slight improvement day by day with no indication of falling apart. Just starting to reach maturity based on this bottle so no rush.

My last but one bottle of this particular vintage ... a wine whom always hits the spot.
I can only repeat my previous TN's ... the wine has mellowed down even more, becoming more flawless. Rarely have I tasted other bottles that bring a smile to my face from the first till the final drop out of my glass. Would assume the high level should be able to hold for a few more years, but for me this wine is at its absolute peak.
It can now easily complete with the Pavie Macquin, Tertre Roteboeuf and Pavie, all from 2007 - some of my all time high ratings.

in the nose : vanilla, cinnamon, mint, pepper in the mouth : lovely and elegant acidity, bitter touches, chocolate in the aftertaste, not a wine to store too long
