  • Good provenance bottle. No premox like the last bottle phew. Pours a pale color that looks totally young. Initial sips at 13c. Pretty white flowers like acacia and a whiff of honey on the nose. High toned and very elegant. Dances on your palate with sophistication and airiness. Very balanced fruit and acidity makes it feel bright, clear, light, with a bit of the iron fist in silk glove experience. Not at all over the hill. Style-wise, this feels consistent with my past experiences. As it warms, i get notes of ripe stone fruit like apricot. Simply beautiful and made my day. I think this will go great with the porcini risotto coming up. I might drink up in the next few years. Day 2 edit: after coravin of the remaining half in the fridge overnight, the wine has some oxidation notes. Reminds me of my last bottle. I agree maybe I better drink up. If it tastes great you might want to finish the bottle

  • Don's 50th: Brighter, lighter, and cleaner than the 2000 Meursault we had alongside this wine. Nicely balanced fruit and acidity. Touch of bitter on the end-palate, which I liked. 13% alcohol.

  • Tropical and smokey and just amazing.

And the palate is rich and massive, settling into itself. Great.

  • Interesting nose. Almost artificial fruit. Banana, tropical fruit and a hint of lemon zest. But again, this had an almost artificial feel on the nose. Palate is somewhat plain. A touch of orchard fruits. The best part is the smokey note on the back end of the palate. Slightly shorter finish.
