Purchased on release and cellared in my passive cellar. Lovely balance. Fruit forward, with developing nuance on the nose and complexity on the palate. On the heavy side of burgundy but easily identifiable as burgundy blind (when tasted blind a few days later). Flowers, soft and savory fruit on the palate. Entering a good drinking window with years left.

Opened an hour before serving. Ripe black fruit aromas with faint liqueur hints come across and rich, but slightly one dimensional. Similar flavors are slightly more expressive with a power, expanding finish. Faint complexity starting hinting at potential over a few hours. Started as a "90 point" wine, then slightly better after an hour+, but never quite met expectations for its terroir in this great vintage. I won't open another bottle for at least 5 more years.

Decanted three hours, drank consistently over the next four. Wow, what a lot of fruit. Tastes like burgundy, not the new world, but is considerably more stuffed than about any burgundy I have had. Not overripreness, as in 2003, to my palate. Not clear how this will age as balance is an issue; acid seems low. But I look forward to seeing what this will be like in a decade. Enjoyable right now.

Started out funky and took about an hour to even out. Very ripe with dark liquor and black fruit. Ripe and lacking the transparency of the corton.
