What a great positive surprise. This had notes of beef roast, gravy, icelandic moss candy. No green and unripe notes that you'd expect from such a terrible vintage and a particulary bad example of that vintage. I had this wine before in terrible shape, but this was actually a really good Bordeaux. I have no clue how, but it was delicious.

Château Palmer vertical (Burg Layen, Nahe, Germany): This is a green underripe wine that is really out of balance. Compared to how successfully this estate managed tough conditions in 1991, this is a failure.

MAYBE NO. Ratings are about right on this, not a great vintage (but the price was reduced). It is think with some cigar box coming off the decanter, but in the glass is thin and vaguely bordeaux. Pity. Drink date is right.

In comparison to the PALMER 1991 , this year is an dissapointment at full site ! What a pitty, but You cannot change: tast is quite good, but the aftertaste ist nearly flatt, no sight of any evolution at the full lenght of consumation... at least it is no "old" and flawed, but in a way really dead expect the alcohol s there , shame on this Palmer ! 87/ 100 Points !

Nose: Farmhouse, strong old leather, wet animal fur but technically ok Palate: Gravel with animal flavour which is strongly present also on the nose. Long aftertaste. Viscosity is quite high. This wine was not for me. And in general, not for the faint hearted.
