Must wait for this to open up, but worth the wait. Nose of chocolate and parsley. Rich dark fruit palate. As winemaker Peter Gambetta note, there is a "sea spray tang" which is typical of Australian cabernets. Great value.
I like to think of the cigar as a baby Menzies, with the wine showing very similar characters to it's more expensive stable mate.
The nose has a choc peppermint character alongside blackberry and cedar, the tannins across the palate are long and drying and there is an underlying liquorice all sorts richness that complements blackberry and mint. Great length of grainy black fruits to finish. Review Link - www.winereviewer.com.au (drink from 2013-2020)
