2 hours into the second night (overnight in the fridge), this bounced back from an interesting but disjointed disappointment into a rich balanced wine. Replacement bottle from winery...world of difference. LC nailed this blind on first sip as Grenache. Light in color, ruby red. Red and dark fruit on palate, with smoke and dark mocha. Great balance, light on its feet, terrific with lunch and sipping. Seems to be opening up with time. Will revisit later.

With stir-fry dinner at a friends. Great rich mouthfeel and interesting earthy/woody notes, but overall a bit subdued. Past its prime? One more later will tell. B+.
