  This ‘94 Dunn Napa Valley cab was pretty incredible. Still very young! Lots of earthy notes but with loads of nice, dark, red fruits still being present. Could’ve held this for several more years.

  No formal notes based off memory from over a month ago but this was a standout in a lineup of other 94 Napa cabs - full character still, no tired flavors yet.

  Significant sediment. Deep ruby, age-appropriate bricking; moderate intensity aromatics with blackcurrant fruit; palate is full bodied, youthful juicy black fruits, slight forest floor though not clearly with vegetal notes like capsicum, quite clean and pure, perfectly integrated tannin, medium-plus acidity, medium-minus alcohol (13.0%); medium length finish. Incredibly balanced california cabernet, fruit-dominant but quite refreshing, less complex than Dunn can be with the Howell mountain bottlings. Similar to my note from December 2015. 92
  Fruit fades after an hour in the glass with not much additional complexity to replace it. It is "refreshed" with a new pour. I would not give this much air, just a decant for sediment and this is ready to drink. Probably another 5 years left in this, though not too much longer.

  Decanted 1 hour before pairing with grilled American Bison New York Strip Steaks. A dark garnet in the glass reaching out to thinning edges with some bricking shown when swirled. On the nose, a large amount of balsamic cassis, spiced plum, touch of brett, and forest floor. Very good intensity and concentration with a big spiced plum note through the mid-palate. Long finish, wrapping up a wonderful bottle. Solid 94.
