Roediger Tasting - Sauvignon Blanc (Stellenbosch): A restrained nose that starts a little neutral then offers white flowers and herbs touch of chamomile, all pointing to Riesling but then deviates towards skunk, aniseed, mown grass and medical bandages. There are minerals in what is a lively, fresh light-bodied SB. Finishes short to medium with more dried grass and styrene (burnt polystyrene) notes. Didn't move me.

I think WS got it about right. This is a pleasant wine, though not anything special. It's a bit more herbal and not nearly as citrus-y as my always favorite Marlborough sauvignon blancs.

A pleasant clean sipper with mouth-pleasing acids and a bit of lemony citrus and mineral. As the wine warmed up from refrigerator temperature (40F), the fruit became more forward and the wine was at its best around cellar temperature (55F). Continued to improve as the wine was consumed over about 4 hours. Very nice for the price ($10).

Lovely Sauvignon Blanc from the Loire Valley. Good wine; served at Poconos with fish and olives.
