Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 85 points

  • This wine was once part of a holy quadrad of white wines, but this was a very long time ago. This is not a wine for most people's tastes, and I bought it mainly for historical interest. It is a wine that can live decades, but only because it is very oxidized, not much of a feat. True to form, this bottle had a golden color with a tinge of orange. It had a bouquet and flavor that mixed iodine and salt, not very appealing. With a wine like this, it is useless to talk about balance or nuance. I confess that the rating reflects my view that the wine basically doesn't work. Others might disagree, but I doubt that many will be buying more.

  • Nose: Oxidized, Flor, caramel, burnt sugar.
Palate: Flor, oxidized with some caramel hints and a little nuts. Fairly short aftertaste.
