This bottle still had time. From my cellar into the decanter, it took an hour or two to open up and show it's fruit. I still found it to be tight, with dark fruit and a slight tannic finish. Very well balanced, playing off a steak nicely. Second one I had this year; made a mistake opening this one because my last notes said to keep longer. Oh well. If you cellared properly, it still has legs.
I must disagree with the others. I took one of these out of my cellar and opened it last night. The wine was alive, vibrant, delicious and absolutely-perfectly aged. The fruit was very present and robust. It was a wonderful example of central coast cab at its finest. Everyone who shared was amazed by it's quality, structure and elegance. Lots of cherry, vanilla, dark fruits & leather. Not nearly as bitey as a napa of this age may have been, but just as enjoyable with lighter fruits and more subtle build. I think this wine should drink through the end of this year. But might surpirse and last even longer!
