Hidden Gems (Farpointe Cellar): This had a very spicy nose, but also quite a bit of plum. There was also some oak, but not too much. The palate was not as good as the nose. Tannic and overly acidic, it really had nothing except a little bit of plum.
Earthy nose with blueberries but also some oak. Palate shows minerals and some fruit, dark berries, but also some odd funkiness that is hard to describe, adds some sharpness. Olivia would be disappointed.
Appearance: Clear, deep ruby, pale rim. Nose: Clean, medium intensity berries and light earth. +Palate: Dry, medium-low acidity, moderate tannins, medium+ alcohol, medium+ bodied, medium intensity blackberry and plum with almond on the moderate-length finish. Good quality, ready to drink but can age. 14% abv, D 7.5, F 6; Rathbone, PS)
