I was longing for a quintessential Santa Rita Hills Pinot Noir and this delivered. A light transparent red that suggests subtlety. Magnificent nose of cherry and strawberry. The palate doesn't disappoint and delivers tart cherry and red fruits. This wine has a nice tartness and strong backbone of acidity that carries through to a medium finish. It is a simple pinot noir that takes me to the Melville winery where I can see the gregarious Brent Melville looking over his grapes as they grow in golden sunlight of these marvelous vineyards.
