Pop and pour. This has aged beautifully under a screw cap. Nose of blackberry jam soars from the glass. Rich and mellow on the palate. Still has some juicy tannin and good acidity.

- Brick color - This is awesome wine from nose to taste. You can smell the deep cherry and earthy richness. From my last taste in 2013 (if I can even remember) its just as rich and full bodied. The length is substantial but it satisfies and dissipates. Hats off to the winemaker here! Love the smooth bold fruit and grounded backbone.

Unfortunately, my last bottle. Spectacular. Very dark. Elegant and smooth....yet has an earthy/leather note. Opened it for the first bottle for dinner at a gathering of daughters and some cousins for the Holidays......and it went in a minute.

Bottles I drank in 2011 and 2012 seemed to be tiring, but not this bottle. Would describe it as mature.....but in the positive sense of that word. Dark fruits and long finish. Need to seek out some more of this.

(QUIXOTE PETITE SIRAH) #1; COLOR-great, black/purple; NOSE-earthy, more Rhone Valley than CA, green pepper, black cherry, black olive, very Burgundian w/ hint of excitement; TASTE-Wow, I adore this, very structured and New World in it's over-the-top Plum & Black Cherry, but characteristics of Old World (earthy tones); Great synergy of Old & New World; WS-87; GV-92/93
