  • Opened this fully expecting it to be DOA, over the hill. On the contrary, to my surprise the nose is quite fresh, black cherries and forest floor. Color is dark ruby with slight water at the edges, but no noticeable browning.Palate has lots of fruit, black cherry and other dark fruit, no noticeable tannin, but nice acidity on the finish. The finish is medium long. The fruit is sweet but nicely in balance with the acidity. A much more enjoyable bottle than I expected. I bought this bottle in Sydney shortly after release and hand carried it back (along with others), but tois is my last bottle. I think it's better now than I ever remember it. Go figure!

  • Clear ruby color with some water at the edge. Tar and spice on the nose. Black fruits and tar, a little thin on the mid palate, but a smooth finish with moderate length. I han carried these back from Australia 9 years ago but havrn't had one in a long time. Still holding up well.

  • ($15) This had been languishing in the cellar awhile. Decidedly has a tawny hue to it. The fruit has dropped out some, but it generally still retains a core of black fruit. Okay. I tasted the leftovers the next day and it still seemed drinkable.

  • This one has passed its peak. Though it was not undrinkable, it was not a satisfying experience. Waited too long.
