Amber +2. Mature aromas, of rich vanilla creme, butterscotch, heavy coconut, moderate petrol, baking spices, apple, pear; the nose is the thing here. Off dry on entry. Development is good, acids are still present for lift, and strong petrol, apple pie, nougat and sherry flavors combine well. Finish medium. My brother's last bottle, a treat.
Honey oak gold. Sappy, developed nose of creme brulee, petrol, baked apple, coconut. The wine's original sweetness has dropped out and is replaced with a fully matured Mosel spatlese melange: hint of apple sherry acid, good body, flavors echo the nose with nutmeg added. Bottle #12 of twelve. Goodbye old friend, you were the wine that introduced me to fine Piesporter.
