Granato piuttosto trasparente. Naso decisamente nebbioleggiante, tra ciliegia e goudron, menta e terriccio, tabacco Kentucky e scorza di chinotto. Intenso ma delicato, definito, molto lungo e mobile

Out of a closed phase and ready to go. This was bursting with red fruit and acid on the pop, plenty of structure. Unfortunately I had to go so put into fridge for a day. Still quite good but not near as good as the brief taste yesterday. The mouth is still excellent, plenty of tannins and volume but carried in a light manner. Pine, earth, hard red candy, embers, rusticity that is plainly Italian. Very nice, but had more interest on day one. Ready to go but will last some years.

Dark ruby but translucent. Starts out with dark fruit, mild mineral, and a stern character, but softens over a couple hours and completely changes to red fruit, mild mineral, and spice but still with slightly dry tannin. I tasted this wine 2 years ago shortly after bottling (when it was boisterous and effusing myriad flavors) and I can say without reservation that it is completely shut down. This is showing Pinot Noir characteristics and in my book is indistinguishable from it. I only hope it shows its initial brilliance after some more sleep.
