  • first bottle i've had of this wine... it's metallic, thin, and short on the finish... either a really poor bottle (though i can't figure out what's wrong with it from a fault point of view?) or a really poor wine... i don't know which.

  • Fairly deep ruby. Leafy and full of olives-very green tonight. Lean, skinny and harsh, not showing a lot of fruit at present. Tough to drink at this point. Hard to believe that it has faded so soon. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt and hope that it is in a closed, dumb phase, but this is very diappointing now. Looking back on my prior notes, I see that I've had reservations each time, so maybe it's time to run up the white flag and say that as much as I like this producer, this just isn't that good.

  • I didn't dislike this, would could be an indictment of the wine. I almost universally dislike cabernet franc, especially from the Loire, because the green pepper taste is exaggerated on my palate. I got some earthiness and some tea flavors. The tannins were mild. The wine seemed especially light. I drank it but I didn't like it enough to buy a bottle. A Kermit Lynch import.

  • An Evening of French Wines: Medium ruby. Lean and leafy but not underripe, good graphite underneath. Typical weight for Loire Cabernet Franc. Good with potential to improve for a few years.

  • Dense nose, sweet funky earth, salami, pepper, mineral, black olive. Dusty, earthy, juicy cherry and red fruit w/ dried nuances. Tight minerality, baking spice. Good acidity, grippy tannin balance. Bretons make biodynamic Cabernet Franc wines that are at once a great expression of the grape and place, and also a cool, quirky and unique one. (*)

Day two: Some integration occuring and linearity. Perfumey sweet earth, soft dusty fruit, juicy core, bright acid note, earthy herbal finish. Increased vibrancy? Some of those muted earth notes start to pop i think.
