  • A duller ruby color with rims starting to show a bit of garnet.
As you tilt it and swirl around the glass it leaves a beautiful tint ... Such nice viscosity!
That beautiful jammy nose that's familiar from early 2000s Aussie Shiraz. Nice red berry notes that just seeps in with spice and that light alcohol kick 15-16% (makes you expecting a meaty wine)...
Round strong concentrated acidity and tannins, so long you can county the seconds on your tongue, but still soft and rounded with the vintage...opens up in just 30mins...
This would be great with red meat and BBQ, but some lamb with this for sure... How can this be so affordable...

  • Awesome aroma of clean Eucalyptus, and slightly charred cedar wood, chocolate, black fruits & a touch of honeyed apricot jam.

Intense, liquorice & fruity palate with persistent hot spicy finish.

Good structure with fine tannins. I felt that the core is a bit softer for this vintage. Long legs kicking in the glasses. Much <3 & happiness here.

Two hands is always so consistent with wine craft, wonderful!

  • This was a big ol' boy! After the 84 Chappellet, I had to switch gears a little bit! Second wine served blind to more or less the same crowd. Poured black and inky. Nose with a little bit of meat but this was mostly black dark roasted fruits. Entry was dark blackberry, sweet plums, figs, baking spice. Power. Lots of guesses for syrah and petite sirah and I don't think anyone really thought this one was 11 years old. Finished with a lot of roasted sweet and chewy tannin. I didn't think I was in the mood for this kind of wine until I realized that I was in the mood for this kind of wine! I think this one has another five to ten years easily.

  • rich berry nose. Fruit reserved in a mass of tannin with good acid. it opened slowly and following day the fruit opened big time and the beauty is fully displayed. Consider decanting .
