Popped-n-poured and drank over 6 hours. Didn’t rate this since I feel like it is a little closed down now; much like its geographic cousin, the 2008 White Rose, Whole Cluster. It’s currently drinking at about a 89, but my gut feeling is that it will probably rebound into something closer to a 94 point, near “classic” PN in a few years. Black berry fruit and cinnamon baking spices on the nose which is consistent with the area. Rich, fuller-bodied style that is sure to stand up to some additional time in the cellar. Hold at least until 2017.
Who knew that Willamette Valley was geographically centered between Sonoma Coast and Burgundy??!!
This had red ripe fruits ala Sonoma/RRV Pinot Noir but it opened with an exotic perfumed note I've only run across in a Burgundian Pinot. Medium bodied, satisfying, and bold. I like this wine. Dangerously easy drinking.
This one still need more time or a lot of air to smooth out. Good flavor, somewhat obstructed by a fair amount of structural elements that keep the fruit from shining through. Mostly red fruits, with lots of acidity and modest tannins. Good, but also somewhat disappointing at the same time.
