Magnum, decanted into half bottles & consumed over a week. Excellent, sour, very Chablis, with the touch of ffat attending the warm vintage. Why is this not a 1er cru? Drink up, I think, in this format.

From magnum, drinking nicely immediately opening, but improves with exposure to air over hours - so drink now or hold. This is a very nice villages Chablis with - imho - 1er-level precision, finesse and heft, although the body doesn't properly show until the wine's been exposed to air for an hour or so. I'm not good with aroma and flavor descriptors: from memory I'd say it tends somewhat towards Vaillons or Lechet in its profile.
We opened this for Thanksgiving, and I liked it so much that I went back to it after a glass of the red wine, which was also very good. I'd imagine it's showing perfectly now from 750.

You can hardly go wrong with a Gilbert Picq village chablis for $20.00 Pale yellow luminescence in the glass. A clean, flinty nose of bright apple and pear and a slate finish. The fruit is lush and forward accentuating the pleasure of each mouthful. If you put four bottles out for a dinner of four, you will have none left at the end of the meal; if you open a bottle for yourself, you will finish it; guaranteed.

This is a fresh, crisp and lively wine. It has lemon, green apple, cucumber, limestone, melon and quinine tonic flavors.

Nice, but lacking the acidity and minerality I had been expecting.
