On the nose, aromas of slate, straw, pear, and tropical notes. Slate/chalk, slate, lemon peel, apple, and honey (taste, not sweetness) on the palate. Fruit is slightly overripe, distracting the mouth somewhat from the lovely chalk & slate profile. Medium body, nice acidity.
At the Athaneum: Liquid rocks, light squeeze of lemon, dry chalky mineral finish; lower acid attack, medium+ weight, a bit round but not soft or flabby, fairly ripem generous, with great lively acid kick in the long finish. Really nice, great drinking now and for 5(+) years. 90-91
