Don’t agree with last 2 reviews. PNP to a beautiful deep purple colour with super legs, big bold berry, jammy blueberry with a touch of leather. This was paired with 5 year old smoked cheddar and goats cheese on crusty olive bread. Just luscious and a good tonsil punch. It’s in a zone for pure pleasure enjoy and respect this true value player.

Suspect this wine is just past prime drinking window. It is rich and full bodied, plenty of dark plums, cassis, blackberries too. But there is also a meatiness, a port-like richness to the wine that suggests it is full mature - yet some acidity sticks out on the finish (adjusted perhaps) and the alcohol is noticeable. Pleasant enough, better with food.

Ah Lorraine. She's brooding and murky in the glass, almost brown looking. She smells of menthol and grapes with a little whiff of funk starting off, gradually resolving to a tarry smell. To me, the predominant flavor is indeed tar, with dark fruits- blackberry and prune. I can tell she's a sophisticated lady, will made, but maybe not exactly my style. She maybe just a little past her prime too- I would have liked just a little bit fresher fruit maybe. Nice tannin structure and sustained finish.

Almost like port. Having a hard time getting past the heat. It's certainly too much without food. Hopefully it will calm down for day two.
