Soft, round and pleasant. Very smooth and velvety on the palate much like a Pinot Noir, but without the earthiness or mustiness. The Viognier gives a very nice floral note on top of the usual, albeit toned down Shiraz flavors. If you're looking for that in-your-face Shiraz, this isn't it. Simply put, this is a smooth, tasty, every day drinking wine that would pair well with almost any weekday meal. I will get more. Nice QPR too.
I agree with other commentors -- this is a laid-back Aussie shiraz. Perhaps, even, a good description would be "Aussie shiraz for Oregon pinot drinkers." Cherry, a little raspberry, and enough acidity to provide backbone. Medium-weight, nicely balanced.
Very nice shiraz without the over the top jammy fruit. Not much on the nose but plenty of dark fruit and a decent finish. The viognier takes the bite of the shiraz down a notch and adds some complexity and smoothness.
