PnVnD let air for 1hr. Beautiful cassis aroma from the moment it was poured. Dense dark purple with plum rim. Cassis blackberry espresso and orange blossom on the nose. Medium weight with silky espresso and cherry skin tannins. Burst of black and red fruits on the palate with notes of espresso leather and herbs. Becoming more elegant and integrated. Lots of complexity for the price. Have loved this all along the way but it is in a really sweet spot right now that tempts me not to hold on to the rest too much longer.
I am not sure how WS saw this as a 96 rated wine. It's a typical Tuscan wine. Nice blackberry. cherry, and plum taste. a little soft with tannins and acidity not so prevalent. Can't see this getting any better.
Opaque purple in color, this wine (50% Sangiovese/25% Cabernet Sauvignon/25% Merlot) shows dark plum, new saddle leather and spices on the nose. The mouth feel is full bodied with added notes of smoke, licorice and dust. The finish is medium/long in length with unexpected heat at the end, causing this taster to think there may be more alcohol than the 13.5% abv listed on the label.
A recent gift from my boss, this wine is in its prime drinking window now. Served pnp, the first several glasses were the most vibrant. The last 2 glasses, poured 2 hours after opening, faded quickly. Drink now.
