A solid 90 point Cabernet which was poured from a 375 ML bottle. Dark purple in the glass with good clarity. Nose of plums, dark cherry, leather and a whiff of pencil lead. Medium in body with still strong tannin backbone.
The wine is full of dark fruits and earthy elements but its not very complex, almost simple. I love the Cask Cab's and never shy away from them... but the 08 is not their best showing.
Aromas of concentrated dark, dried cherries and plum are predominant in the nose along with cassis, vanilla and hints of violets and spice. A dense structure with fine chalky tannins give weight into the finish.
