Good open, big nose, definite petrol hit. Mouthcoating, medium body. Good integration of fruit, sweetness and acidity. A little subdued. But pleasant. Drinking well, and probably won't get better, but years left. Long, light finish. Really great QPR on this wine.

This lacked the excitement and depth of my previous bottle. Living up to Rhinehessen's reputation for broad and fleshy riesling, it has ripe, but not over the top, orchard fruits with hints of spice. Good definition in the mid-palate. Petrol is still rather faint, suggesting the screwcap is slowing down development. While the structure was perfectly fine, it just felt a bit flat and dull on the finish. Not flabby per se, but this lacked both the richness and energy that can make aged riesling so delicious.

{screwcap, 9%, AP 1 10} Mid yellow. Correct for age. Gentle aroma of custard, peaches, apples. Nice. Spritz palate, but acid is medium level, and nicely balanced by the off-dry sweetness. Very gluggable I must say. Light-medium bodied, no more; the palate has the same apple sweetnesses as the nose; it sits evenly on the tongue, but it’s no more than a short medium length finish. Tidy wine, not brilliant, but no complaints.

Really hitting its stride. Consistent from first sip to last drop. Very well made, and good balance of acidity and fruit. Enjoyable

Served at Thanksgiving. Very nice. Flavors of apple (but not tart at all), a little petrol, a little honey. Well balanced.
