Havent checked in on this for four years. Last btl of several I have been working on for almost a decade. It is now very secondary with tons of nuts, minerals, dried orange peel, chalk, decaying flowers, and rose water. Sl oxidized but not at all unpleasant. Still thick and more glyceriny than I typically like but no denying the tremendous character and terroir of this wine. Finishes a bit drying and hot with EtOH being more prominent. This is on the decline in some respects but shows how lovely these can evolve over a long period. I would gladly pick up another 1/2 case of this in an updated vintage and start over...

From memory. Slightly botrytised nose of honey and apricots. Rich mouth. Long off-dry finish but with a more noticeable dose of residual sugar than the 08. Good, but for my tastes the 07 shows much better with better balance and greater complexity.

My last one of these, and again use it in Osso Bucco. The weight of this along with the tremendous fruit and high alcohol make it perfect for the hearty Osso Bucco but this is still way to over the top to drink on it's own. The acidity is also overpowering now, which I hadn't noticed in the past. The high alcohol continues to be noticeable as well. I still do like it, but it just doesn't have the balance as the young 2007 did. I would imagine this would pair well with swordfish or perhaps a spicy Indian dish.

Consistent with my last bottle from almost 2 years ago. There is a weightiness/glycerin here (presumably from the barrels) that is not my style for verdicchio, but there is no denying this is well made and there is excellent fruit in the bottle. The touch of oxidation is there, but it is not too distracting. I continue to think this has another 5 years in it given the weight.

Rich and zesty, with not unpleasant viscosity. Some oxidation and more noticeable alcohol, but still enjoyable.
