  • Pale rose red color - reminds me more of a Tavel rosé wine than a PN red wine. Open, charming and inviting nose of fresh chranberries and lingonberries, earth, noticeable spiciness, fir forest and some distant barnyard aromatics. Lovely, a bit rustic nose that has some definitely Burgundian edge to it! Bone-dry and very acid-driven palate with pronounced crispness. The taste starts with red berry candies, but takes a sharp turn to dryness with the acidity, bringing in notes of tart lingonberries. Very taut and structured, but quite straightforward effort - the nuanced nose leads to expect more from the palate, which turns out to be a bit thin, aggressively acidic and somewhat linear with quite one-dimensional flavor profile. No noticeable tannins, but due to the high acidity, the structure does not need any. Bone-dry, taut and slightly bitter finish with flavors of tart lingonberry, earthy spice and a touch of stony minerality.

Fresh and lively wine, but also so crisp and tart, that the only situation when I could picture myself drinking this wine on its own is a hot summer's day, when I want something light and refreshing, but not white - for a change. Otherwise this is a certain food wine: it needs something lightly flavored, not to overwhelm the fruit, but something rich and fatty (or acidic), to tame the wine's acidity a little. Despite the lovely nose, I'm not really convinced - however, this is a wine for those people who enjoy extremely light and acid-driven reds. At close to 20€, not really worth the price.
