Grand Jury du Vin - Republic of Georgia; 11/1/2023-11/9/2023 (Republic of Georgia then stopover in Paris and Dijon): Perfectly mature nose displaying ripe warm red fruit, dry cherry, strawberry jam, a hint of licorice, leather, tar, mushroom, sweet spices and mineral. Very good concentration, nicely layered shy red fruit, warm, soft and round, medium acidity and mineral, soft tannins and a medium to long warm and sweet red fruit driven finish. This clearly demonstrates the warm vintage. Drinking nicely but fully mature and will not improve. Mr. Sandrone was a member of the Grand Jury Europeen and we cheered in his honor.

Wow! Super a pointe, just perfect balance of hedgerow fruit and tertiary leather, forest floor dried rose petals and tar. Structure still has enough grip and lift to keep the taste buds excited. Wonderful. Very long, complex. Drink now but will slowly develop and become more tertiary.

garnet with orange rim - floral nose (maybe violets), but not many Barolo characteristics - very pretty mouth with mature nebbiolo fruit and a very good acid fruit balance - soft tannins that are almost fully resolved - long 20-30 second finish - this may not be a classic Barolo, but it is a beautiful mature wine that is drinking delightfully at this time

6 of 12 opened at 4:00 served at 7:30. Bright red fruited nose, floral notes, this is clearly in its prime. It continues to be an elegant Barolo, good balance and acidity, resolving tannins love it’s weight and texture. In some ways this along with Gaja Barbarescos really appeal to my love of burgundy

(Sandrone Barolo Cannubi Boschis) Pretty nice nose to start off with but the palate was a little flat due to the hotness of the vintage. Nose was tar and roses with dark cherry fruit. It was very nice but it was a chore trying to find any acidity in this wine.
