Best of Austria and some other supplements (@home): Glas: Zalto Universal Bottle opened about 2h before. Not Decanted. From an amazingly good and cool cellar. High-fill. Clear, deep, ruby-garnet color that was astonishingly youthful. Clean, medium intense, fully developed nose with the typical earthy tones, herbs and spices and some beautiful red and black fruit. Dry, high, well-integrated acidity. High, mellow, ripe tannin. On the palate beautiful red and dark fruit, some menthol, lots of herbs. Wonderful balance and elegance. This beautiful bottle could be put in a lineup of great, ripe BDX! Drinks perfectly now, but will stay on this level for at least another decade! Amazing! 94+

Deep dark, purple color. Surprisingly, no significant lightening at rim. Nose is a bit odd. Maderized red fruit, menthol, some smoke. Palate matched, with a short, sweet finish. Some drying tannins follow. Forgot I had this. Found it while doing an inventory. Should have been drunk 7 or 8 years ago - this score reflects the fact that this is a wine best drunk in the first 5-6 years of life, IMO. Remember one of this from the late 90's being in the high-80s or low 90s.
