I wasn't sure how this would taste - not super old, but six years since the vintage. And it's not a "you said you were high class" (to quote Elvis) wine. It is rather oaky. Maybe that's putting it mildly. And not as good the second day. But on the positive side, on the first evening it was surprisingly good, not a wine you wouldn't want to drink. It went nicely with a risotto we had with leeks, lamb, and parmigiana. The aging may have helped it - seemed to have some depth of flavor that was unexpected.

This was a huge surprise. At price, I expected far less. Palate of grean apple, pear and pineapple, balanced with just enough acid and a nice creamy, oaky finish. An absolute steal at $10 price.

A playful melange of cascading tropical and citrus fruit, a hint of soft but resounding oak and a clean, deliberate finish. We zeroed this out like soda through a straw.
