  • Perfect, don't wait on this, drink up. 30 minute decant was fine and worked well with a pasta with mushroom cream sauce. The acid is all but gone but enough to keep it in balance. Once again - DRINK UP!

One final note, this fades very quickly in the glass, it was outstanding the first hour and then slowly declined. It's perfect for a glass of wine for 4 or 6 before you move on to something else so open a bottle, pour a glass for friends and enjoy.

  • Opened for a few hours then drank too quickly.
I don't often see wines any more with that much sediment. I thought I'd let it go too long because, blah. But once I filtered it and it had some more air while I was filtering it, it was really really good. It isn't the big dense dried fruit thing of the past, but is complex and approaching elegant...
Elegant might be a stretch but there's a lot going on. Seems to me to just be entering maturity and developing some complexity. Still big.
Depending on how you like your wines I suspect it will develop more. Wish I had more to sit on to see what it does. I think 10, 20 years shouldn't be a problem.

Oh yeah. Just took another sip 8 hours after opening. It's a winner. Not a long or interesting finish but there's a lot to tantalize the palate. Balance. Acidity. A little fruit. Some tertiary flavors coming in. Some pepper. Lovely Cherry vanilla nose. I love this now. Temp makes a big difference, too.
Neutral upon opening, very memorable now.

  • Decanted for 4+ hours. Seemed thin and ho-hum to me but it was popular with the crowd. Surprisingly reserved wine.
Curious to see what the next bottle holds.

  • Wow! Powerful wine, dark fruit, heavy on the palate, rich, chocolate, earthy, good structure with muscle. Im buying more.

  • Slow-O 1 hr, served non-blind. It's not often that I come across a wine that's so fully in my wheelhouse. Full, bright ruby core, no sign of age. Lots of rustic, farm and wet earth aromas waft over a deep, engaging core of red and black fruits lurking just below. With only a few minutes of air, this was already singing, but continued to get better with each glass. A wine that I could smell and smell and be pretty content. But there's the palate, too, and that's just as lovely as the nose. Well-lifted, seamless and weightless, yet packs a striking depth of purity and grace. This is really on point now, with the tannins, acids and fruit in a perfect harmony at the moment; the 15,0% of etOh is unnoticeable after the first minute or two. Excellent food wine, but can also be enjoyed on its own notwithstanding the lively acids. The combination of French and American oak really works here. Drink thru 2019 very highly recommended
