Dark garnet in colour. Compelling aromas of ripe fruit bordering on the jammy side. Hefty prune and balsamic notes along with earthy nuances and undercurrents of iodine. Great concentration with an elegant texture, warm, sweet and long aftertaste. The oldest Nerello I have tasted proving the ageing potential of this exciting variety.
Wow, great showing, burgundy meets C9dP with enough Italian funk to make the whole thing a memorable experience. Was a big hit at our Italian tasting (only rare grape varieties or obscure regions). Medium garnet color, but highly aromatic and ever-changing nose -- all but simple but rather deliciously complex aromas confirmed on the palate showing a panoply of ripe fruit flavors with a wonderful, almost ethereal sweetness, but at the same time balanced by good acidity . Everyone went gaga over this one (to my surprise), and I loved it as well. No hurry to drink, but after receiving some air, certainly no crime to drink based on our experience.
