Garnet red, very luminous. Intoxicating nose on strawberry jam, blood orange, incense, face powder, white truffle, eucalyptus, so intense and layered. Mouth is so refined and perfect with such beautiful tannins, still has a lively and refreshing acidity, layers and layers of flavours. This is an incredible bottle, just perfect right now but can waited for another 10-15 years.

Local wine group dinner with Soldera wines. 2 hour slo-o. WOTN. A stunning wine that was firing on all cylinders and finished with length and elegence.

cool, funky earth nose with plenty of fennel. darker cherry flavor profile, some brown soil...i can see where all the burgundy comparisons come from. maybe gevrey chambertin i found this to be somewhat more medicinal, however. definitely a different expression of sangiovese than i've had before.

(Soldera "Intistieti" Brunello di Montalcino) An everchanging nose that transcended Sangiovese yet stayed faithfully on target as Sangiovese. Ripe deep cherry fruit, spice, sandalwood, mineral and wet earth abound on the nose. The nose was more complex and nuanced than the previous Miani. The fruit was decidedly in the red camp and was very layered on the palate. The concentration was fantastic and after a bunch of aeration it was incredibly complex and kept evolving in the glass. Great acidity that tempered all the flavors. The last sip was just stunning and reminiscent of DRC Grand Echezeaux's I have had in the past. Absolutely remarkable wine and makes me a believer that Gianfranco Soldera is making the best wines in all of Tuscany by far. Each bottle I have had is even more remarkable than the next. Again I wish they weren't as expensive as they are. But I would be hard-pressed to argue against it as this stuff really delivers.

A young bottle that was impressive at first, but leaned out to acid on the finish after an hour. 93-
