  • Gosh I enjoyed this. Full on strawberries on the nose and continuing onto the palate. It was clean but had enough funk to make it really interesting. I met Patti in his garage where he makes his wines and he warned against drinking this too early. Well, Carmello, I think I got this about right. Sweet, balanced, funky, glorious. Thank you.

  • I was disappointed by this bottle. It seemed kind of flat, low-acid, and didn't have much to say. Maybe on its way down?

  • Purple with red edges. Nose complex with rose, red berries, cedar, tobacco. Medium weight with good entry of mature fruit. Tannins very soft but perceptible. The texture of the wine is impressive for its softness and impression of luxuriant warmth - creating the illusion of liquified roses. The varietal fruits are not individually distinguishable and the flavors are secondary, delicate with good persistence. This bottle seems improved over the other we had 10 months ago but this seems to be at its peak (though my preferences are for mature wines).

  • Had it with a roast for Christmas and was disappointed with the way that it showed compared to my review in 2010 and compared to the bottle of the 2003 that I had a few weeks ago. Still an elegant and balanced wine, but the fruit has really faded and is overshadowed by wood, both on the nose and on the palate. I would guess this bottle peaked in 2009 or early 2010. There may be a lot of bottle variation, but I would definitely drink up if I had any left.

  • Tried it at Pappas' Argentinian Tasting. It was the best wine of the evening. In a blind tasting, this could easily be mistaken for a high end Bordeaux from a fine vintage. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Malbec, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Super elegant, balanced and refined. WS and WE both gave it some mediocre scores and did not find it age-worthy when they rated it in 2006, but they must have caught it in a dumb phase or must have gotten some bad bottles. Certainly, the CT reviews seem much closer to the mark.
