I've had the 08 of this wine two years ago but this was a completely different wine in style. While the 08 was quite fullbodied and creamy in style this was herbal, grassy with citrus, flowers and some minerals and a touch of oak. Paired with wrong food and was better on it's own on day 2.

Rich apple and vanilla tones with a gentle oak frame, golden raisins, pear and light caramel tones make this drink similar to a chardonnay with moderate acidity. The mid palate density is moderate+ and it follows through to the finish. Overall a delicious oaked Rueda.

Sweet, nutty nose with honey, green apple and citrus fruit. Medium+ body but somewhat lacking in density and depth compared to the 2006 and 2008 I have tasted previously. Nice, balancing acidity and long aftertaste.

This wine just knocked my socks off. I would never guess it was Verdejo. It is similar to a burgundy - body with stone fruits and minerality. Yes there's oak, but not it's in balance. This is a beautiful wine. Thanks to Jason at Ya Ya's in Denver for recommending it (just bought 1/2 case).
