Lively in its youthfulness, this is a graceful, feminine rendition of Vougeot. On the nose gentle baking spices, red berries, citrus, smoke, complex mineralite. The palate is quite sweet, initially somewhat austere and mineral, with a few hours red fruits come to the fore, along with some meaty elements, on a mineral acid core. Tannins barely noticeable. No discernible oak. This is quite lovely.

Dull crimson with ruby hues; sour cherries, nice balance in the nose, softer quality but a firm Vougeot character underneath; very nice though it probably needs lots of air or more cellaring to come out of its shell a bit more.

Nose a bit reticent and closed; takes a lot of coaxing to get a little bit of floral to come out, but what you do get is quite pretty. On the palate, nice smoothness and density, good sweetness. High quality, quite good. Very pretty; as it opens up, you do get more of the sweetness of the fruit and perfume on the nose, with again some orange blossom showing. Earns its place as the GC in this lineup. Tannin, power and prettiness all find a place here; semi-approachable, but going to be a very nice wine someday. I do like the Beaux Monts as a value alternative to this. 93+

Mid-weight and delicious Clos Vougeot. Blue fruits back lit by electric acidity. Nice balance and persistence. Lingering earthiness.
