| | Tasted by Hollowleg on 5/16/2009 & rated 90 points: No notes taken. Needed about 30 minutes of air before the fantastic aromatics appeared. If I gave this more time in the glass I'm sure the taste would've been as good as the nose. High end wine at a bargain price. (90-92) (350 views) |

| | Tasted by iByron on 10/11/2008 & rated 89 points: A wonderful, full-bodied wine, characteristic of the varietal and of the region. Nice dark color with bitter chocolate and stewed black fruit on the palate with a good lick of leather on the lengthy finish. Firm but forgiving tannins. Should integrate well over the next 3-5 years. Like the 2001, would go well with a bacon-wrapped filet mignon. (408 views) |
| | Tasted by groper1234 on 9/11/2008 & rated 70 points: What a horible wine. First bottle was clearly corked, opened second bottle and decanted for 1 hour. Smells tar, smoky, some herbal undertones. On the palate, yuck, and yuck, full bodied and powerful, distictively savoury wine. Too harsh to take another gulp. There is absolutely no sweetness in this wine. It somehow reminds me of the Oliver taranga shiraz 2004. I can't imagine it will be better in many years. It is like drinking petrol. Drink up or use for cooking! (438 views) |
