  • Very similar notes to my bottle of nearly seven months ago. Black cherry, floral, earth and vanilla notes on the nose. Medium bodied and quite well integrated. Black cherry upfront along with raspberry and a deeper plum note. Tartness and acidity provide contrast in the back along with a crisp wildberry note. Still has tannic structure on the finish along with vanilla, earth and light spices. With the fruit and structure this wine is showing currently and the fact that it's bottled under a glass cork tells me it should have several more years in front of it at least. Drinking nicely now, but certainly no rush and given future potential, probably worth holding a bit longer.

  • First bottle in just over seven months and the wine has evolved, even under the glass cork. Again took roughly two hours to open up and come into balance. More of a blackfruit note on the nose with this bottle along with the earth and vanilla. Medium bodied and mostly balanced given time open, but I felt the oak on the finish may have stuck out a little more with this bottle. Retains the cherry note upfront, but this time it was black cherry, shifting to red. Also adding the raspberry and currant towards the back. Has a tart wildberry note along with good acidity, light spices and earth on the finish. Clearly has the fruit to continue to improve, but the overhanging oak does concern me a little bit. I plan to drink my last bottle in the next 12 months even though I expect this wine should last at last another 2-3 years at the present level.

  • Deep rich and soulful. The immense fruit forward flavor is balanced by restraining tannin giving some integration. Limited aroma adds to the restraint.

  • Red cherry, earth and sandalwood notes on the nose. Medium bodied and completely smooth; drinking beautifully, especially after about two hours open. Red cherry is the primary flavor with hints of raspberry, plum and currant popping up and intermixing at various points - really nice mid-body complexity. I felt like there was almost a cool, blackfruit note underlying the entire wine, balancing everything and adding nice depth and richness. A little mint, light spices and mineral qualities dominate the finish which gained length the longer the wine was open. Based on the fruit and structure, you should be able to hold this several years more and expect some minor additional smoothing and balancing.

  • Exciting nose, typical of Willamette Pinots, strawberry, raspberry, and sandelwood. Flavor profile is much darker and tend to exhibit more earthy notes than fruit. Any fruit you do get is more plum and blackberry.
