This wine is open for business- but has a long way to go. Loads of creamy black and red fruits, wild flowers/herbs. O the youthful side of things, but incorporating nicely. Plenty of fruit acid and tannin (silty) to go around. I highly agree with JLHKISS' note. Things are just starting to get intersting.

Notes from memory. Decanted 2 hours ahead of seared NY Strip off the grill. Dark purple with a ruby hue. Good floral nose - lavender, eucalyptus, and cherry blossoms. The palate is full, square, tangy, and compact, bringing a juicy core of red and dark fruit with lingering dark chocolate, pipe tobacco, and dried leather into the juicy red cherry finish. Drink 2021-2030+. Technical score: 93. Enjoyment score: 93.

Decanted and returned to bottle. Clear, medium-dark ruby color. Minimal sediment. Secondary and primary aromas of black olive, black currant, graphite, cracked pepper, eucalyptus and cherry. Dense and concentrated on the palate, with black currant and dried violet primary notes, along with secondary notes of shoebox leather, cedar, tobacco and iron. Nicely integrated oak, medium acid. Silky-firm tannins. Savory depth of fruit and minerality on the finish, with good length. Still very young- ideally this needs 3+ years for its peak.

This is deserving of a higher score than it's current cellartracker rating in my opinion. The tannins are still a little grippy. It could use another year or two.
