Opened at the restaurant and served an hour or so later. Some slightly dirty action on the nose and palate but in a good way! Palate of bright, crushed strawberries and blackberries. Initially, a tiny hint of structure still on the finish. Really in a great place and both delicious and cerebral.
Ramonet Dinner (The Bristol - Chicago IL): Mature black fruit with lots of earth, leather and reduced mushroom aromas. Less fruit than earthy flavors, at a very good place now, with moderate depth and concentration.
Bonus wine courtesy of Gregg after our Ramonet dinner.
opened with lovely rich, fruity, floral notes that continued throughout dinner, bright red color, more of the same on the palate, hints of black cherry fruit with spice and almost sweet/sour bacon taste of older burgundy that I love, medium/long finish. Tasted against the 1985 Trapet Chapelle Chambertin which was slightly better showing.
