  • delicious. big and powerful. overwhelmed the salmon and braised cauliflower we had, though doable. an hour in, opened up nicely with sweet blackberry fruit. a thanksgiving kind of wine.

  • nose: wet hay, subtle cow poop, black pepper and some dark fruit. Palate: A little hot, strong but not over powering tannins, hollow mid palate. A little disjointed and not smooth. Overall an average Gigondas. OK for midweek but at same price there are better Gig's out there. Maybe needs a few more years to fully appreciate but probably will not bother waiting.
