An Evening in the Northern Rhone Valley: Westchester Wine School (White Plains, NY): Drank at WWS N.Rhone tasting. My contribution. Purplish-red core with browning apparent at the edges. Black fruit on the nose, along with scents of leather & meat. On the palate, medium weight tannins still apparent but not interfering with my enjoyment of the wine. Great depthness of fruit here, along with green peppers, leather, tar & olives. Very round, rich mouthfeel, along with excellent complexity and length. This was a great bottle that was no doubt owing to the richness of the stellar '99 vintage in the N.Rhone. Other than the 2 hermitages we had later in the tasting, this was by far the best WOTN. Excellent Cornas!

Somewhat fruity and light. Well balanced. Red fruit on the nose. Definitely more balanced and refinded than some of the Australian Shiraz I have had. I would buy this again.

Deep red color shows no signs of age. Nose of black fruit, wet stone and cedar. Flavors start soft and build with blackberry, black cherry, mineral with a good acidic presence. Finish goes on for at least 20 seconds. Tannins are still very present but are soft and fine. This has many years left and should get better over the next few.

Showing pretty well but in my mind better drunk now than later. Leathery cedar and red berries with great mouthfeel.

Closed down. It was okay but I am saving what I have left for 2010-2012.
