Dinner Wines and a Teutonic Tasting; 5/7/2015-5/10/2015 (Various): Light medium gold color. PNP, drank several glasses over 2 hours with dinner at Alma. This was showing very well again indeed. There is a poise to this wine along with impeccable balance that I love. It opened continually over the first 30 to 45 minutes to reveal a nose that is brightly floral, green orchard fruits and brisk sea air minerals. The palate shows both restraint and depth with its caressing texture. There are wonderfully pure pear and green apple flavors with a bit of lemon chiffon. Couple that with the tangy acids, noticeable tannins and a judicious use of oak and the result is terrific. f I had more, I would look to drink these over the next few years. 93+ to 94pts.
Very consistent with previous bottles. The palate is much more impressive than the nose, but this is a great combination of baked fruits, slightly grilled pineapple and smoke. There is enough structure to keep the fruit in perfect balance. The muddled nature and general reluctance on the nose keeps it from moving into the classic range, but this is still an exceptional wine.
