The quintessential "Cougar juice," this Rombauer is every bit as full-throttle as its predecessors: slightly golden in the glass with oodles of oak, cream, vanilla, and citrus. On the palate it is much of the same as the oak hits first, followed by all that buttered popcorn and a noticeable, though certainly shy, acidity. This is the style of Chard that has turned off all those ABC (Anything But Chardonnay) drinkers. There is just one thing: it is good! Sure, it is big, bold, and unabashed, but that style of wine needs loving too! thedrunkencyclist.com

Judith's Over the Hill and Under the Weather Event (Judith's House): Medium gold color. 2.5oz pour over 30 minutes. Big and full bodied, richly layered, butter, butterscotch, citrus, toasted oak. Toasted oak finish with prickly sharpness. Take away the coarse finish and this would be better.

sometimes a wine that is iconic when young grows to be even better with age. Such is this one. The oak is still in abundance. The butter has mellowed into a butterscotch without the sweetness. The wine is more rounded, deeper and more nuanced. I sure am glad that I have more!

Well developed and lush with earthy notes and stone fruit. Great mouthfeel. Paired well with baked halibut

Buttery, full-bodied, mellow, with melon on the pallet and citrus on the nose. Delightful.
