Deep Garnett in color. With initial notes of plum, vintage Napa earth, pomegranates or cranberries, currant, curry, tobacco, leather and cedar. A very good vintage Old world styled Napa cab with lively acidity, bitter tannins and a velvety mouthfeel. Very enjoyable!!!

Impressive showing - decanted two hours to reveal complex layers of red and black fruits with elevated acid and tannins that have started to mellow. Herbal nose of sage, mint, clove, and cedar with red fruits like bing cherry and red currant. A bit of cassis and plum underneath a wine that drinks smooth with fruit and savory notes. Beautifully balanced now but can go a few more years if you want more tertiary expressions.

Tasted this alongside The Altruist and think this one is better. Both wines start off with appealing voluptuous aromatics - sweet spice and full of fruit. On this one that style conveys to the palate seamlessly with a satisfying finish. Both wines benefited substantially from a night under stopper so I think these wines need time. I'd check in with them next in 2015.

Great, complex, dark fruit; only needed 30 minutes of aeration
