Lately, I’ve been on a pretty good streak of wines that do not fill my mouth with berry fruit. This wine does show cabernet cassis on entry, but fruit is not what this wine is all about. Strong acid and tannin backbone dominate over the delicate fruit flavors. Viney on the back of the palate. Long, lingering aftertaste where harshness is forgotten and pleasantness is recalled. Definitely, a food wine, not a sipper.

Dinner with Val, Megan and Neil, Great and more than worth the money - needed some time to open but had a big front nose smooth soft palette and solid plum, blackberry and leather.

Decanted 2 hours. Tons of sediment. New world in style. Except for acidity, which was a bit light, in total harmony. Pure Ripe Black Cherry, Blackberry fruit with a very small hint of oak. Smooth tannins. Drinking great at this point in it's life.

Good wine light nose medium body plum, raisin, earth, wood. No heat and probably aged a little much
